In Turkey, tradition states that guests bring the newlyweds gold under the form of coins or bracelets. When all the guests are seated for dinner, the bride, the groom and their maid of honour make rounds with a velvet pouch to personally thank every guest and receive their wishes.

 

Gold coins can be purchased from any jewellery shop in Turkey. They come in different sizes; Cumhuriyet Altını (Republican gold coin), Yarım Altın (half) and Çeyrek Altın (quarter) being the most popular ones.

 

Alternatively, we would welcome a cash gift to put forward into our honeymoon fund.
